PHUKET: Island Landmarks

The first destination that we wanted to visit brought us to the southernmost tip of Phuket Island. It was worth the land trip and the 50+ steps to see the beautiful Promthep Cape. It greets visitors with a great view of the Andaman Sea, and based on what I was told, a spectacular sunset if you came in at that time of day.

Our next stop required some more steps, as we headed off to see Phra Yai (The Big Buddha) on top of Nak Kerd Hill. It is the largest statue of Buddha, measuring up to 45 meters, and standing on a hill that has a great view of the city.

After which, we visited Wat Chalong - a well known sacred temple in Phuket. It was composed of different structures, which were all majestic, to say the least. This may have been one of my favorite tourist attractions in the area.

To make the most out of our stay in Phuket, we also spent a good amount of time at Patong Beach. There were lots of people delighting in sunbathing, or taking on some adventure by paragliding. Surfers were also enjoying the waves, and for some like me, having fun at the beach.

Obviously, our feet also led us to Bangla Road where I found 50 THB shots and 200 THB beer buckets!
