POKHARA: 3-day Itinerary to Nepal's Lakeside City

by - 1/31/2018 10:51:00 am

The entire trip to Pokhara was probably the highlight of our trip to Nepal. So I'd like to start out with a recommendation - if you have the time, go! Take a quick plane ride, or if you're watching your budget, travel by land from Kathmadu to Pokhara. It's worth it.

We didn't stay long in Pokhara, but we did our best to make the most out of it. If given the chance, I'd go back and explore a little more, plus do other adventures - there are a lot! But for now, I'm sharing below our quick Pokhara 3-Day Itinerary:

DAY 01
Flight to Pokhara
Davis Falls
Gupteshower Mahadev Cave
Check-in at Pokhara Batika Hotel

DAY 02
Sunrise at Sarangkot Hill
Paragliding Activity
Boating at Phewa Lake

DAY 03
*Sunrise on our hotel rooftop*
UltraLight Flight
Bindabasini Temple
Flight back to Kathmandu

The first day starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara via Yeti Airlines. This was an experience all on its own - from the crazy delays and situation in Kathmandu airport, to realizing that we were riding a really tiny plane. Around 15 people could fit in the plane, and the flight attendant offered us cotton and candy (No, not cotton candy. Cotton. And. Candy.) because it could get really noisy from the plane's engine so we were advised to put cotton on our ears. But nonetheless, the views from the flight were spectacular. You get a glimpse of the Himalayas almost up close.

We stayed at Pokhara Batikaa great hotel in a very good location, and with amazing hotel staff.

For the paragliding, we did this in the same morning as the sunrise trip to Sarangkot Hill. After the sunrise, we were already back at the hotel before 8am, which gave us enough time to eat breakfast, and get picked up again for our next activity. We were also back again at the hotel an hour or so after noon, and had time for lunch, and an afternoon boat ride in Phewa Lake.

We booked our Paragliding activity via Klook, which included the pick up and drop off back to our hotel.

Our last day was spent for our UltraLight flight activity, and passing by another temple before heading to the airport for our flight back to Kathmandu. Our transportation to and from the airport, as well as our transfers and tours (except activities) were also coordinated by Kailash Jorneys as part of our custom Nepal package - check out where they took us in Kathmandu here.

We had our UltraLight flight with Avia Club Nepal, which also included the pick up and drop off back to our hotel.
