MT. PURRO: Day Hike near Manila
It was another random summer weekend mood that got us into going on a hike again. Close enough to the city, Mount Purro Nature Reserve offers guided hikes to Mt. Purro "Malvar's Peak" twice or thrice a day. A day pass also gets you lunch with pool and facilities access.
We decided to start our hike before 1pm, and it took us about 2 and a half hours to complete the hike, and get back again. If you're a total hike beginner, or haven't hiked in a while (like me), this one should be a good option. The only thing that hikers should be mindful of is the weather because rain the day before (and the day itself) makes the trail very slippery, so it presents quite a challenge. In addition, don't forget to bring mosquito repellant because there were a lot of mosquitos!
Overall, the hike was a good experience, and the view of Sierra Madre from the peak was beautiful. The place is a great way to immerse yourself in nature and have fun for a weekend. Check out some of our photos below:
