Marseille

It's still summer somewhere, and it looks like it is in the South of France! Although it's already October, it was still a good time (in my opinion) to do a little Provence trip and get to know this side of France a little bit more. I landed in Marseille, and started exploring from there. I was kind of surprised that there was a lot to see, and I guess I was lucky that I got an Airbnb in the center of it all!

Porte d'Aix

Old Port

La Major

Notre-Dame de la Garde

Aix-en-Provence
Aix-en-Provence, known as the city of water and art, is around 30km from Marseille. I think it's also known as the city of a thousand fountains, and indeed, I saw a whole lot of those! Here I got to spend the day walking around a local markets, and trying out the Provençal fresh produce and local specialities such as calisson and nougat.

Fontaine de la Rotonde

Cassis

The small fishing village of Cassis was my last destination, and this is where I took a lovely boat cruise through to see the breathtaking calanques! The village was nice and charming, and there's a beach where you can chill and take a dip. On the drive back, we had a stop at the highest maritime cliff in Europe, Cape Canaillto, for spectacular views of the bay.
